Primary School China Trip (Ages 8–13)
A primary school trip to China introduces children to one of the world's great civilisations through direct experience — hands-on activities, peer interaction and cultural immersion that simply cannot be replicated in a classroom. Children return with genuine curiosity about China, basic Mandarin phrases they actually used and memories that last.
Our primary programmes are specifically designed for 8–13 year olds. Every element — session length, activity format, daily schedule, meal times and bedtimes — is calibrated for younger learners. We do not use secondary school or adult programme formats for primary groups.
Dumpling-Making Class
Children prepare, wrap and eat their own dumplings with a local chef. Universally rated the most fun activity in our primary programmes — every year without exception.
Chinese Primary School Visit
Joint games, art activities and shared lunch with Chinese children of the same age. The most memorable exchange experience — children make friends across the language barrier.
Great Wall Adventure
Walking a manageable section of the Great Wall with age-appropriate historical storytelling. Cable car available. A physical and historical experience that stays with children for life.
Calligraphy Workshop
Children learn to write their own name in Chinese characters with a master calligrapher. Each child takes home their own calligraphy scroll as a souvenir of the trip.
High School Study Tour (Ages 14–18)

Best Timing by School Calendar
China's holiday calendar and school term dates do not align naturally with Western school calendars. Understanding which months work well for each school type helps you plan a programme that fits your institution's schedule without conflicting with China's major holidays.
March
All school types. Full operations, pleasant weather. Book 5–6 months ahead.
April
Good for all types. Avoid Guangzhou during Canton Fair (first 2 weeks only).
May
Excellent from May 6. Skip May 1–5 (Labour Day) only.
June
Good for primary and high school. Universities finishing — schedule exchange in first 2 weeks.
Jul–Aug
Works for primary and high school (summer break). Universities on holiday — no campus exchanges.

Best month for university programmes — new semester energy. All school types excellent.

One Date to Avoid Above All Others
Chinese New Year (late January to mid-February, varying by up to 5 weeks each year) is the single most disruptive period for any China educational programme. Factories close, hotels are extremely expensive and transport is overwhelmed by 1 billion domestic travellers. We do not run programmes in this window.
