Duration, Season, Visa & Getting There
Duration & Timing
Most groups spend 1–2 days in Wuxi as part of a wider Yangtze River Delta itinerary. One day allows a single industry visit plus a cultural site; two days lets you combine industry, culture and a more in-depth company programme.
Best Season to Visit
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the most comfortable seasons for lakeside scenery and outdoor walking, and are also good windows for company visits. Avoid Golden Week (Oct 1–7) for company visits and plan 3–6 months ahead.
Visa Requirements
Most nationalities (UK, EU, Australia, NZ, Japan, S. Korea) enter visa-free for up to 15 days as of 2026. US, Canada and India nationals require a standard tourist (L) or group travel visa. Wuxi is reached via Shanghai and shares the same visa entry requirements.
Getting There
Wuxi is on the Shanghai–Beijing high-speed rail line. High-speed rail from Shanghai: about 40 minutes. High-speed rail from Suzhou: 15–20 minutes. Wuxi Sunan Shuofang International Airport (WUX) serves regional routes, but most international groups fly into Shanghai Pudong (PVG) or Hongqiao (SHA).
Recommended Hotel Area
The Lake Tai (Lihu) area suits cultural and educational groups — close to lakeside scenery and Huishan Ancient Town. The Wuxi New District (WND / Xinwu) area is closer to the integrated-circuit and solar industrial parks — best for executive delegations.
Best-Fit Groups
Executive semiconductor & solar delegations, advanced-manufacturing groups, university engineering & energy cohorts, and culture-plus-industry school groups.
