Corporate Visits
to China — Answered.
Every question we've been asked in 13 years of organising executive study tours and corporate delegations to China — answered honestly and in full.
The range of companies accessible to international delegations in China is far broader than most people expect. Over 13 years we have arranged visits to hundreds of companies across industries. Commonly visited companies include:
Beyond the headline names, we also arrange visits to tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers, state-owned enterprises, innovation parks, university research labs, hospitals, and government economic zones — depending on your group's industry focus.
Huawei receives international delegations regularly. Access typically includes their Bantian campus in Shenzhen, the European-style Ox Horn campus in Dongguan, and the Songshan Lake Research & Development Park.
What's available: campus tours, product experience areas, and briefings from Huawei's public affairs and business development teams. Direct access to core R&D labs or senior engineering staff is not offered to external visitors.
A typical corporate visit runs 2–3 hours and follows a structured format:
This depends on the company and the profile of your delegation. For large consumer-facing companies like BYD or Alibaba, standard visits are handled by their public affairs and international business development teams — knowledgeable, senior, but not the C-suite.
For smaller companies, industrial manufacturers, or specialised firms, it is often possible to arrange direct meetings with founders, CEOs, or VP-level executives. We assess this case by case.
Our approach: we never oversell the level of access. We will tell you honestly what's achievable before you confirm the program, not after you arrive in China.
For a 7-day executive program, we typically schedule 10–14 company or institutional visits, averaging 1–2 per day. This is deliberately paced — cramming in too many visits exhausts delegates and reduces the quality of each engagement.
Each visit is complemented by expert briefings, facilitated debrief sessions, and structured downtime that still delivers insight (high-speed rail journeys, neighbourhood walks, curated restaurant choices).
Absolutely — and this is where our 13 years of relationships matter most. We have arranged visits for groups from sectors including:
- Healthcare and hospital management
- Civil engineering and infrastructure
- Agricultural technology and food supply chains
- Retail, e-commerce and logistics
- Finance, fintech and insurance
- Fashion, textiles and manufacturing
- Education and EdTech
- Government and public policy
When you contact us, tell us your industry and the specific topics your group is most interested in. We build the company list around your agenda — not the other way around.
When we say fully managed, we mean your group's only job is to show up at the departure airport. Everything from that point is handled by us:
- Airport arrivals and all ground transfers
- Hotel sourcing, booking, and check-in coordination
- Company visit scheduling and confirmation
- Bilingual professional guides throughout
- All domestic transport (high-speed rail, flights, private coaches)
- Restaurant recommendations and dietary requirement coordination
- Expert briefing sessions and pre-visit research packs
- Real-time support for any changes or issues
- Post-tour strategic briefing report
Recommended: 6–8 weeks for standard programmes. Minimum: 3–4 weeks for simpler itineraries without high-demand company visits.
Certain visits — BYD factory floor, specific Huawei campus access — require more lead time due to their booking and approval process.
All accommodation is 4-star minimum for executive programmes. For VIP delegations we use 5-star properties exclusively. We work with international brands (Marriott, Hilton, InterContinental, Hyatt) as well as premium local brands.
Hotels are selected based on proximity to the day's company visits to minimise transit time, as well as facilities for group briefings, private dining, and reliable high-speed internet.
Google, Gmail, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and most Western platforms are not accessible in China without a VPN. We advise all delegates to install a reputable VPN before departure.
We also provide each delegate with a local SIM card on arrival for calls and data, and our guides are reachable 24 hours by WeChat and phone.
It happens — rarely, but it does. Chinese companies occasionally cancel with little notice. After 13 years, we have contingency built into every program.
For every key visit, we maintain a confirmed backup option from our existing relationship network. Cancellations are replaced within hours, not days, and the quality of the alternative is always comparable.

Yes. Our monthly open-enrollment group tours run every month with fixed dates and itineraries, open to individuals and small groups (1–5 people). The cost per person is lower than a private program, and the peer group typically adds its own networking value.
The tradeoff is that the itinerary is fixed rather than customised. If your group has 6 or more people with specific objectives, a private program almost always delivers better ROI.
It depends on your nationality. As of 2026, China has expanded its visa-free access significantly:
- Visa-free (15 days): Most EU member states, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore
- 240-hour transit visa-free: Available in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu for eligible nationalities
- Visa required: USA, Canada, India, and most other nationalities
We provide personalised visa guidance documentation for every delegate and supply all necessary invitation letters and supporting materials to facilitate your application.
Yes. Upon program confirmation, we provide each delegate with a formal invitation letter from our China-registered entity, accepted by Chinese embassies for M-visa (business) applications. We also supply a detailed itinerary document and company registration certificate as supporting materials.
Please note: visa approval is at the discretion of the Chinese embassy. We advise applying at least 3–4 weeks before departure.
In our 13 years, we have not experienced a single delegation member being denied entry to China at the border when proper documentation was in order.
The more common issue is visa processing delays for US passport holders, which can take 4–6 weeks. We advise US-based delegates to begin visa applications as soon as the program is confirmed.
Every private program is built from scratch around your group's objectives. There are no fixed templates. You decide which cities to visit, which industries and companies to focus on, the pace and intensity of the schedule, and the balance between company visits, expert briefings, and cultural experience.
Most programmes go through 2–3 rounds of refinement before final confirmation.
The sweet spot is 8–18 people. This is large enough to signal seriousness to host companies, but small enough for intimate Q&A sessions and genuine peer conversation.
We have successfully managed groups as small as 3 and as large as 60. Tell us your size and we will design accordingly.
Best months: March–May and September–November. Mild weather, no major national holidays, and companies are in normal operational mode.
Avoid: Chinese New Year (late January to mid-February) and Golden Week (first week of October).
Not at all. Our professional bilingual guides handle all communication throughout the program. Every company presentation is simultaneously interpreted into English. Many of our delegates speak no Mandarin whatsoever and navigate the entire trip with complete confidence.
China has largely moved to mobile payments (WeChat Pay and Alipay). For program days, all payments are handled by us. For personal spending we recommend:
- Bringing some Chinese Yuan (RMB) cash
- Setting up an international Alipay account before arrival
- Carrying a Visa or Mastercard for larger purchases at hotels
Chinese cuisine is enormously varied and most delegates find it a highlight of the trip. We have successfully accommodated vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, nut allergies, and kosher requirements.
Please declare all dietary requirements when you register. Your guide carries a dietary card in Chinese for every delegate with specific needs.
China is one of the safest countries in the world for international visitors by any measurable standard. Violent crime against tourists is extremely rare.
In 13 years and 300+ programmes, we have never had a delegate experience a security incident of any kind.
Our standard recommendations:
- Travel with a dedicated travel laptop with no sensitive proprietary data
- Use a VPN throughout the trip for encrypted connections
- Avoid connecting to public Wi-Fi networks without VPN active
- Consult your organisation's IT security policy before travel
These precautions are prudent for travel to any major economy. The vast majority of our delegates use standard devices with a VPN and experience no issues.
Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen have world-class international hospitals with English-speaking staff. Our guides know the nearest appropriate facility for every location on your itinerary.
Group travel insurance is included in our quotation. We additionally recommend delegates confirm their own policy covers medical evacuation, and our team coordinates directly with the hospital in the event of a serious medical situation. In the event of a serious medical situation, our team coordinates directly with the hospital and insurance provider so the delegate does not have to navigate a foreign healthcare system alone.
Every program includes a Post-Tour Strategic Briefing Report — a written document summarising key insights from each company visit, expert briefing, and delegate discussion, structured for boardroom presentation. Delivered within 5 business days.
Business cards and contact details are exchanged at all company visits where company representatives are willing to do so. We also facilitate introductions in our post-tour report where relevant.
For delegates seeking to develop specific business relationships — supplier partnerships, distribution agreements, joint ventures — we offer a separate China Business Matchmaking service. Contact us to discuss.
