China Study Tour (CST)

Business Insurance

Important Information for Clients and Delegation Organisers

Business trips, executive delegations and study tours to China involve international travel, meetings, factory visits and multi‑city logistics.

While China Study Tour (CST) aims to organize safe, well‑planned programs, unexpected situations can still occur during travel. This page explains why appropriate business and travel insurance is important, and how it fits into your China Study Tour (CST) program.

1. Why Your Delegation Needs Business / Travel Insurance

Even the best‑planned executive trip may face unforeseen events, such as:

  • Medical emergencies or accidents during international travel or on‑site visits
  • Flight delays, cancellations or missed connections
  • Lost, delayed or damaged baggage and equipment
  • Changes in schedules due to weather, strikes, or local conditions
  • Personal liability incidents or third‑party claims during visits or events

We strongly recommend that every client and delegation member purchases suitable insurance cover before departure, especially older travellers and participants with pre‑existing medical conditions or higher health risks.

2. Recommended Types of Coverage

Depending on your organisation’s risk policies and the nature of your trip, you may wish to consider the following types of insurance (often combined in a corporate travel or business travel policy):

  • Business Travel / Medical Insurance – Emergency medical treatment, hospitalisation, evacuation and repatriation while traveling abroad.
  • Trip Cancellation and Interruption – Protection if your trip or part of your program is canceled, cut short or changed due to covered reasons (for example illness, certain emergencies, or severe weather).
  • Baggage and Personal Effects – Loss, theft or damage to luggage, laptops and professional equipment used during the trip.
  • Corporate / Public Liability Insurance – Third‑party bodily injury or property damage claims arising during your business activities.
  • Professional Indemnity (where applicable) – Claims for financial loss related to professional advice or services connected with the trip.
  • Business Interruption (for tour operators / agencies) – Coverage for interruption to your own operations if you are a partner agency or operator.

Please speak with your company’s risk manager, HR team or insurance broker to determine the appropriate level of cover for your organisation.

3. How China Study Tour (CST) Can Assist

China Study Tour (CST) is not an insurance company and does not sell, underwrite or provide insurance products as a standalone business. We do not act as an insurance broker or agent.

Our role is to:

  • Design and coordinate study tours, executive briefings and business delegations in China
  • Arrange local logistics and on‑the‑ground support according to the agreed program
  • Provide reasonable information about local conditions and typical risks

We do not:

  • Provide professional insurance advice or recommend specific insurance products
  • Evaluate whether your organisation’s insurance coverage is adequate
  • Handle claims or disputes between you and your insurance provider

However, on request, we can:

  • Connect you with partner insurance providers familiar with international business travel and delegations
  • Provide basic information about your program (dates, destinations, activities) that your insurer may need
  • Help coordinate communication between your organisation and the insurer during the planning phase

Any insurance purchase and final terms remain strictly between you (or your organisation) and the insurance company. We do not sell insurance as a separate service.

4. Your Responsibilities as a Client or Delegation Organiser

By booking a program with China Study Tour (CST), you acknowledge and agree that:

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that each participant has adequate insurance in place before departure
  • You understand the potential risks associated with international business travel and on‑site visits (including factory tours, innovation parks, R&D centres, etc.)
  • You will provide your participants with clear guidance on insurance requirements set by your company or institution
  • You will inform us in advance if your internal policies impose specific safety or insurance requirements that affect the program design

We recommend that you keep copies of your insurance policies and emergency contact numbers accessible during the trip.

5. Liability Disclaimer

While we make every reasonable effort to organize safe and professional programs, certain risks are beyond our control. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • China Study Tour (CST), its partners and representatives are not liable for any personal injury, illness, death, property damage, loss, delay or additional expenses incurred by you or your participants that arise from events outside our direct control (including but not limited to accidents, natural events, flight disruptions, government actions, strikes, or actions of third parties).
  • Our liability, if any, is limited to the scope of services directly provided by us under the agreed contract or proposal, and is subject to the terms and conditions agreed in writing.

Nothing in this statement is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

6. Before You Confirm Your Program

Before confirming your study tour or executive delegation program with China Study Tour (CST), we suggest that you:

  • Review your existing corporate travel and business insurance policies
  • Confirm that coverage extends to China and all destinations in your itinerary
  • Check that coverage includes all relevant participants (executives, staff, guests)
  • Clarify any questions with your internal risk / legal / HR teams or your insurance provider

If you need a sample itinerary or program outline to share with your insurer or risk department, we are happy to provide this on request.

7. How to Contact Us About Insurance Arrangements

If you would like support in coordinating insurance for your delegation as part of your China Study Tour (CST) program, please contact us after you have reviewed your internal policies:

  • We can help connect you with partner insurance providers and share basic trip details (such as dates, cities and activities) so they can propose suitable options.
  • We do not sell insurance as a separate service and we do not take responsibility for the final choice of policy or coverage.
