A China university study tour is one of the highest-value international programmes a business school, economics faculty or STEM department can offer its students. The combination of Chinese university peer exchange, premium company visits and structured strategic synthesis delivers insights that no case study, lecture or desk research can replicate — because the insight comes from being in China, not reading about it.

We have designed and delivered university programmes for institutions from the UK, Australia, the US, Germany, Argentina, Singapore and across Asia — for groups ranging from 12 final-year undergraduates to 45-person MBA cohorts. Every programme we deliver is custom-designed around your faculty director's learning objectives, your course's assessment framework and your students' level and sector background.

The Core Value of a China University Study Tour

Students can read about BYD's vertical integration strategy in a case study. They can study China's AI policy framework in a lecture. But sitting inside BYD's factory watching Blade Batteries being assembled, or riding in Baidu's driverless Robotaxi with no safety driver, or discussing supply chain strategy with a Chinese MBA student who will one day run one of these companies — that is not replicable in a classroom. That is the programme.

🎯 Why a China University Study Tour

🏭

Access No Case Study Can Provide

BYD, DJI, Baidu and iFlytek are not just names in a textbook — they are companies at the frontier of technologies that are reshaping every major industry. We provide structured access that allows students to observe, question and analyse firsthand what their future careers will need to navigate.

🏛️

Peer Exchange With China's Best Students

Joint seminars with PKU, Tsinghua and SUSTech students — China's highest-performing university cohorts — create a peer exchange that is intellectually serious and personally formative. Students return having discussed strategy, innovation and their own future ambitions with counterparts who will shape China's next generation of leadership.

📊

Strategic Intelligence That Changes Careers

Students consistently report that their China programme produces the most significant shift in their understanding of global business of any element of their degree or MBA. Understanding China firsthand — not through headlines or secondhand accounts — changes how they analyse opportunity, risk and competitive strategy for the rest of their careers.

📝

Directly Integrated with Your Assessment

We work with faculty directors to design structured observation frameworks, debrief sessions and post-trip materials that integrate directly with reflective essays, group case presentations and strategic analysis reports. The trip earns its place in the curriculum because it produces evidence of learning the faculty can assess.

📝 Assessment Integration

The Trip Earns Its Place in the Curriculum

We provide structured observation frameworks, pre-trip briefing materials and post-trip reference documents that faculty can integrate directly into reflective essays, group presentations and case study assessments. Several partner business schools now use our China programme as a core component of their global strategy elective — because the learning outcomes are assessable, documented and distinct from anything deliverable in a classroom. Contact us to discuss how we can support your programme's assessment design.

📋

Pre-Trip Briefing Pack

Background readings, company profiles, observation frameworks and discussion questions prepared by our team — ready for faculty to assign before departure.

🔬

Structured Observation Frameworks

Company visit observation guides aligned to your course's strategic analysis framework — giving students a structured lens for each visit that connects to their assessment.

📊

Post-Trip Intelligence Report

A programme intelligence report delivered within 7 days of return — key observations, company data and strategic analysis frameworks that students can reference in assessments.

🤝 The Co-Design Process

We do not sell fixed itineraries to universities. Every programme starts with your faculty director's learning objectives and is built around them.

How We Design Your Programme Together

We begin with a call with your faculty director or international office — understanding your course's learning objectives, existing Chinese partnerships, student level and assessment framework. From this, we draft an initial programme outline within 48 hours for your review. We refine through two or three rounds of feedback. The result is a programme that fits your curriculum as naturally as any classroom session — not a bolt-on trip, but an integrated learning experience. This co-design process typically takes 2–3 weeks and is completed before any financial commitment is made.

FAQ

Can the programme include Hong Kong?
Yes, and it is a popular addition — particularly for finance and economics groups. Hong Kong is 30 minutes from Shenzhen by metro, making it very easy to add 1–2 days. Hong Kong offers a distinct perspective on common law and Chinese legal systems, a different business culture and unique financial sector case study material. We arrange the full programme across mainland China and Hong Kong as one seamless experience.
What is the minimum group size?
Our minimum for a private university programme is 12 students. Below this, the per-student cost becomes difficult to manage and the group dynamic for exchange sessions is less productive. For groups of 10 or fewer, we sometimes recommend joining our monthly open-cohort executive group tours instead — which provide a premium programme with mixed-industry peers from around the world.
Can we visit specific companies not listed above?
We are open to pursuing access to specific companies based on your group's sector and learning objectives. We have established relationships across technology, automotive, healthcare, finance, sustainability and manufacturing. Share the companies you are interested in and we will confirm what access is possible, at what level and on what timeline. Some requests require 3–4 months' lead time for senior executive engagement.
How do visa requirements work for university groups?
Citizens of 50+ countries can now enter China visa-free for up to 30 days — covering most European, Asia Pacific and North American nationalities. For participants who require a visa (L tourist visa for educational groups), we issue official invitation letters and provide personalised application guidance. We check the current visa status for every participant nationality individually before confirming your programme. See our full China visa guide for 2026/2027 for details.
