How technical are the company visit briefings?
We calibrate the technical depth of every briefing to your group's level. For secondary school STEM groups, briefings focus on operational principles, engineering context and real-world applications — appropriately technical without requiring undergraduate engineering knowledge. For university engineering groups, briefings go significantly deeper — cell chemistry, algorithm architecture, control systems and supply chain integration. Tell us your group's level when you enquire and we will set the right depth for every visit.
Can students interact with engineers at the companies?
At most company visits, yes — a Q&A session with engineers or senior technical staff is standard. The quality of these interactions depends on the questions asked, and we brief students beforehand on how to formulate technical questions that produce substantive answers. For university groups, we can arrange more extended technical discussions and, in some cases, meet with specific researchers working on topics relevant to your group's study focus.
Is this programme suitable for younger secondary school STEM students?
Yes — with appropriate calibration. For Year 10–11 groups (ages 14–16), we weight the programme more towards science museums, interactive STEM exhibits and age-appropriate technology demonstrations, with fewer full factory visits. The Shenzhen Innovation Museum, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and age-appropriate AI demonstrations make excellent anchors for younger secondary STEM groups. Can the programme be focused on a single STEM sector?
Absolutely — and this often produces the most valuable programmes. An EV and battery technology programme focused entirely on China's energy transition would spend 2 days at BYD and its supply chain, visit CATL's ecosystem, see solar and wind energy infrastructure and end with a synthesis session on the global implications for the automotive and energy industries.
